bridal shower...

Today I was blessed to host my Sister-in-Law's Bridal Shower Tea....It was lots of fun! It took a while to set up, and get everything cooked, and the weather was a bit unpredictable - unusually windy! But it was a great afternoon. It's so fun playing ladies!

There was lots of crafting to do for the occassion! Sewing bunting, an apron present for the bride-to-be, making some paper windmills, and a 'wedding doll' paper chain! Also lots of cooking - the most interesting of which was a chocolate beetroot cake....perhaps not the right crowd for it though!

Overall it was a lovely afternoon celebrating the pending nuptials!

things & stuff

Your balm

Drop Your still dews of quietness,
Till all our strivings cease:
Take from our souls the strain and stress;
And let our ordered lives confess
The beauty of Your peace.

Breath through the pulses of desire
Your coolness and Your balm;
Let sense be mum, its beat expire:
Speak through the earthquake, wind and fire,
O still small voice of calm!

Ever feel like you're being crammed in from every side? I've been very encouraged by this passage lately:

"Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God".
-Ephesiands 3:17-19

And thus I have come to the conclusion that maybe I just don't understand.

On Tuesday we discovered New Farm Deli!! Yay!!! Such amazing, traditional Italian food!!! After having some root canal surgery done though, I was pretty much sticking to liquids! Minestrone was unbelievable though! Apart from a few 'numb-face-induced' dribbles...it was a lovely morning!

Mum's flowers...

While we were home in Bundy, my Mum was growing these lovely Gerbras (spelling??)
